Revisions, publishing, grad school

As I work on my research manuscript for the H.O.P.E. Project, I have to begin the search for its home (which is the least of my worries but a necessary step in the writing process). My mentor Dawn gave me a choice,  publishing my manuscript in a student journal at an honor thesis level, with 1st authorship (usually only grad students do this) or getting into a higher impact scientific journal but taking the back seat. She said that it is rare for undergraduate students to have something published before they enter graduate school but I want to be among that group. I chose to find a home for my research proposal in a student journal. It will be easier to get published and will be good practice for graduate school, as well as a nice addition to my Curriculum Vitae (CV). I have a lot of work to do, I graduate in 18 months. In addition, I am prepping for the Graduate Record Exam, filling out graduate applications and getting the necessary documents. The stress has kept me up at night, I’ve been averaging about 4 hours of sleep, but I am more motivated than ever before. I am excited and hopeful. I know I am capable. I need to keep pushing through. Intro and methods section are fleshed out but they need a lot of work.

Revisions, revisions, revisions

wish me luck
